'Lyd' by Rami Younis and Sarah Ema Friedland,

  • Dar El Nimer for Arts and Culture (map)

Directed by Rami Younis and Sarah Ema Friedland, 'Lyd' blends documentary and animation to reimagine an alternate history of the Palestinian city once known as the home of Saint George. The film contrasts a dreamlike vision of a free, pluralistic Palestine with the harsh realities of occupation, displacement, and erasure.

Through survivor testimonies, striking cityscapes, and poetic narration, 'Lyd' becomes both an indictment of colonisation and a testament to the power of imagination in preserving dignity, memory, and possibility.
