'Flana' is a personal documentary that follows director Zahraa as she confronts the haunting events of her past. Growing up in a Baghdad midwife, her aunt Hayat’s house, Zahraa witnessed the harsh realities of violence against women.
Zahraa Ghandour Zahraa Ghandour was born and lives in Baghdad where she co-founded KARADA films production company. A filmmaker, producer, and actor, she is known for her roles in 'The Journey' (2017) which premiered at the Festival, 'Baghdad in My Shadow' (2019), and 'The Blind Ferryman' (2025). She wrote and directed the experimental short 'I Dream' (2020). 'Flana' (2025) is her latest film.
This screening is part of the 17th Arab Film Festival in partnership with Nadi Lekol Nas.
